Community Eye Care Specialists is pleased to welcome fellowship-trained ophthalmologist Dr. Aanal Vyas to our team!
Dr. Vyas brings an extensive, research-based clinical foundation with fellowship training in inherited retinal diseases such as medical retina, glaucoma and cataract. She has more than 15 years of international surgical experience serving as an ophthalmic surgeon consultant in India. She is certified by medical boards in Pennsylvania, Virginia and India.
Dr. Vyas completed a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Virginia, as well as a specialized fellowship in inherited retinal diseases at Duke Eye Center and a medical retina fellowship at the University of Kentucky. She has a strong background in ophthalmic research, including published work in Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology where she explores the role of inflammation in inherited retinal degenerations.
Beyond her clinical and research pursuits, Dr. Vyas is deeply committed to expanding global eye health access and has volunteered for medical missions in India and Jamaica, performing cataract surgery and advanced ophthalmic care to patients in underserved communities with limited access to care.
She will see patients at Community Eye Care Specialists’ Seneca location.
