Aanal Vyas, M.D., is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Community Eyecare Specialists with fellowship training in glaucoma, inherited retinal diseases (IRD), and medical retina. She completed her glaucoma fellowship at the University of Virginia, following an IRD fellowship at Duke Eye Center and a medical retina fellowship at the University of Kentucky. Earlier in her career, Dr. Vyas served as a consultant ophthalmic surgeon in Gujarat, India, where she gained more than 15 years of surgical experience in cataract and retinal care.

Dr. Vyas has a strong research background, with published work in Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology on the role of inflammation in inherited retinal degenerations. She is certified by medical boards in North Carolina, Kentucky, and India, and is ECFMG-certified.

In addition to her clinical and research pursuits, Dr. Vyas has been dedicated to expanding access to eye care globally. She has volunteered her expertise on medical missions in underserved regions of India and Jamaica, where she provided cataract surgery and advanced ophthalmic care to patients in need.
