PREMIUM LENS OPTIONS

Here at Community Eye Care Specialists, we are proud to offer premium lenses for our patients.

Premium lenses are intraocular lenses that are used during cataract surgery to help people’s vision after surgery. They help give our patients clearer vision than those who have monofocal intraocular lenses. They also decrease the need for our patients to have to wear eyeglasses after surgery.

Premium lenses are called accommodating intraocular lenses because they allow the eye to adjust its focusing power, giving patients clear vision no matter where they are looking. The accommodating lenses adjust to the lens in the eye as well as the muscle surrounding it.

The muscle changes the thickness of the eye depending on what you are looking at. As we age, the muscle becomes weaker and the lens becomes less flexible, which is why many people over forty have trouble with their eyes.

During surgery, our surgeons will remove your natural lens that has become cloudy and replace it with a premium lens. These will continue to work like your natural lens, moving around so that you can focus clearly.

We know that surgery can be scary, and we are here to help. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We want you to be prepared for your surgery, from the examination all of the way to the recovery.
